The Film

01: Suddenly someone has killed himself. Everyone assumes the truth and thinks they know what happened. They say that he did it for this reason or that... It is however impossible to know why they did it, even when you know all the facts. But when someone draws in on himself and gives up all the things that make life worth living, such as work, friends, partner, the confrontation with himself has deadly consequences. Ekkehard Scherrer, 24 years old, is training to be a sociologist and teacher. He approaches his work with young people with idealistic dedication. The challenges of his work take up all his time. When a ward of his kills himself, Ekkehard Scherrer interprets this tragedy as a personal failing which he has no choice but to sort out. But what is he looking for? A nymph or a witch, which creates everything in his head? It is impossible to know, because the problem lies within himself. A film about the impossibility of saying anything concrete about why someone could have killed himself.

Press

01: A sensitive, tender film, which is as kind to its actors as the protagonists could wish. The camera is patient; the microphone picks up well the voices of the young, non-professional actors. Just like one-person slips into the skin of another: you don't always understand this film, but it changes you nonetheless.
